Previewing Marvel's Runaways: Season Three

Marvel Television has died. Long live Marvel Television. All of the signs were there after Marvel Entertainment mastermind Kevin Feige got a promotion in October taking over Jeff Loeb, who oversaw all the decade’s shows. Feige announced an ambitious slate of shows that would directly affect the MCU coming to Disney+. Then all the Loeb shows started to fall like flies. Agents Of SHIELD had already been announced for its final season coming next summer. Then Ghost Rider, which Hulu announced earlier that year, ended up not going forward. Then Cloak and Dagger was canceled, and finally, it announced Runaways would be airing its final season. Ironically, SHIELD, the first show set in the MCU may end up being the last to air too depending on when (or if) the other show Hulu ordered this year, Helstrom, gets released or is renewed for future seasons.

So the third season of Runaways will be its swan song. But at least it will go out with some fan service with something Marvel Television watchers hope for all the shows, a full-fledged crossover when Cloak and Dagger pop up in Southern California. Since SHIELD was last seen jumping back to the time of Peggy Carter, it will likely end with one last crossover too.

But before the Divine paring cross path with the Runaways, the group of teenaged heroes has to deal with some body snatching aliens. After their spaceship blew up, members of Jonah jumped into the bodies of people nearby. Jonah himself snatched Victor’s body. His wife snatched up Stacy’s body, while their daughter took up residence in Tina’s body. The end of the season left us wondering when the son ended up although it is pretty heavily implied it was Nico.

So the new season starts right where the last ended with the Runaways and Pride split up in various factions. Jonah and his family have captured Karolina, Chase, and Janet, keeping them in Victor’s simulator. Gert with Old Lace was captured by Dale after he realized something was wrong with his wife and takes them off the grid. A very pregnant Leslie is with the remaining Runaways Nico, Molly, and Alex as well as Xavin, a stowaway on Jonah’s ship who thinks she is betrothed to Karolina. The adult Wilders are in jail after their son set them up for murder while Robert is in the hospital after a confrontation from his daughter.

Cloak and Dagger are not the only new faces the Runaways run into this season. This season also sees the introduction of Morgan le Fay portrayed by Elizabeth Hurley (Bedazzled) who is a powerful sorcerer from the Dark Dimension. So a witch like the Minoru’s and from the place where Cloak can send people. So it is easy to see how everyone comes together.

This season is mostly split up into two parts, dealing with the aliens than with le Fay although the first part just seems too abruptly. There are actually a couple of surprising deaths along the way; someone actually kind of dies twice. They also up the comedy this season; Tina is much more entertaining as a bratty teenager than the button-uped CEO. Dale seems to have a break from reality. Pride never seemed too evil to be antagonist, but they made a much better comic relief this season.

But the highlight of the season, and probably the series, was when Cloak and Dagger show up. It does show just how much better the Freeform show did at casting because I was left hoping the duo shows up later in the MCU but am pretty ambivalent if we ever see the Runaways ever again. Each group up with two of the Runaways to rescue someone which leads to some interesting revelations like Dagger sees a pretty dark hope of one of the Runaways. Sadly the episode ends with the two groups saying it is likely they will cross paths again but unfortunately we the viewers know that is highly unlikely.

All episodes of Marvel’s Runaways are released on Hulu tomorrow.

Previewing Marvel's Runaways: Season Two

Big shake up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: small screen addition this year with Netflix canceling three of its five Marvel shows with the other two likely to get the axe after their next seasons air (oh, and I guess something big happened on screen too this year, not that a bunch of teenagers in California notice or care). Of course that begs the question will Marvel resurrect those characters elsewhere even though it is reported there is a contractual two year waiting period. The upcoming Disney+ streaming channel (Disney owns Marvel Studios) is supposedly family friendly, so if we ever see Daredevil and the rest of The Defenders, it would most likely be on Hulu, which Disney will soon own sixty percent of.

Hulu being the current home of its own Marvel show Runaways. So could we see the Runaways team up with or battle The Defenders? Since they are on different coasts, unlikely. And Runaways first season was low on references to the larger universe it inhabits. That does change a little in season two where I caught a Black Panther reference as well as a Cloak and Dagger reference that they really want you to notice because it is in two episodes. The latter airs on Freeform, another Disney owned channel which makes a crossover a little like even though the shows again are on different coast, Cloak does have the ability to teleport.

The first season of Runaways was just one long tease. Given the show’s name, it was a huge shame the titular characters decided to wait until the last frame of the first season to actually run away. And that first season should have been great: a group of super power kids team up to take on their supervillain parent, each with their own tried and true super villain traits: the mad scientist, the witch, the alien, the time travelers, and the street thugs turned real estate tycoons. Then the kids take the traits of their parents, including a sixth teen with super strength whose parents died, to take them down. But the first season just came off as a bad The CW teen show with superpowers. It was created by the writing team that gave us The O.C., Gossip Girl, and The Carrie Diaries.

So has the show improved now that the Runaways have, you know, actually run away? Well, a little, but it was not the leap that other bottom of the Marvel heap show did in the second season of Iron Fist. Although where Iron Fist wisely went from thirteen to ten episodes, Runaways actually expanded from ten to thirteen episodes. The show is much better at answering question at time, both others they take to long to get to the point. But one of the biggest problems with that first season was none of the kids on the show were particularly good actors and I found much of that first season rooting for the evil murderous parents.

I found myself rooting for the parents less in season two but that is mostly because some of their motives were weird or unclear and after a major event in the middle of the season, they just start to become aimless. Sure, that unclear motive is explained for three of the parents, but I still wish they would just go full on supervillain just to make the lines clearer. When it comes to superheroes, you just really cannot have shades of grey that you need in more relationship drama.

As for the children, yes they ran away but they did not go far as they start the season on the streets of Los Angeles with no sense of direction until they find an underground mansion that they co-op. But they seem as aimless as their parents seemingly have six different plans among the six of them. They spend most of the season going off by themselves on side missions they do not seem to add to much. Sometimes the kids go back to their parents voluntarily and sometimes the parents just let them go even though they plot to reunite with their kids by any means necessary. This season really misses a common goal that actually builds to something and actual motivations that make sense and are consistent.

We do get a couple of potential Runaways this season; comic book readers should recognize both. There is a third person who is brought into the mansion and is called a Runaway, which just let me scratching my head as to anyone would do this. But I made a dent into my skull at the number of times I had to scratch my head watching this season of Runaways. With that said, I will likely still be back for season three. Hopefully the dent in my head has been repaired by then.

All episodes of Marvel’s Runaways are available tomorrow on Hulu.

The Most (and Least) Anticipated Questions of 2018-19 Television

Here we are a week after Labor Day and already fall television is starting to ramp up before the network start their new seasons. Four shows I am watch just lauched last night.
o here are some questions I am looking to be answered by the time we hit next summer.

1. What the Fork Is Going On in The Good Place? – The Good Place blew our forking mind when the ended the first season with Eleanor figuring out that they were, in fact, in The Bad Place. The show did their big twist a bit early in season two when The Judge sent Team Cockroach back to Earth to live out their lives to see if they would end up being worthy of The Good Place at the start of the list episode so we did get a sneak peak of what season three may be like. It may be a bit precocious to think this will be the whole season considering Michael’s second try only lasted two episodes of season two. All I know about the third season is that Jason better enjoy the Jacksonville Jaguars’ run through the playoffs last year.

2. Will DC Universe Succeed? – We have finally reached streaming saturation where we have to ask of every new service, can it survive? Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu seem to have their foothold with the big pockets of Disney, Youtube, Facebook Watch, and Apple TV lurking (granted deep pockets does not necessarily mean success, remember Ping?). Which begs the question is there a place for niche services? Seriously, who is paying six buck a month to get AMC or FX ad free? Do you at least get their movies uncensored? The latest to put their hat in the ring is DC which is offering a vague number of their comic book movies, shows, and actual comic books along with one exclusive series airing at a time released with weekly episode for eight bucks a month (or seventy-five for a yearly subscription). Does not seem enough to me for a permanent subscription, but I will likely sign up once a year or so for a month just so I can see Lyla Garrity in a superhero costume. Now if only they would greenlight a Saturn Girl spin-off.

3. How Will Homeland End? – How apropos that a show with a bi-polar lead would be the most uneven show in the history of television. As great as the first season was, the third season was equally bad. Since killing off Brody, the show has evened out (though the long slow death of Quinn was excruciating). Two seasons ago, the show backed itself into a Russian hacking storyline before it turned out to really be happening. The show recently announced next will be its last. We left off with Carrie completely off her meds for a lengthy amount of time. Kind of a shame the drama of freeing Carrie wasn’t itself the final season.

4. Will Manifest Be the Next Lost? – Lost launched thirteen years ago and during it six year run, every network tried to replicate its deep seeded mythology with sprawling cast to no avail. Very few got a second season and none I believe got a third. Since they all failed, it has been awhile since a network has tried something so ambitious. Can Manifest, about a plane (how Lostian) lands fire years with the passengers thinking it was a normal flight, capture the magic that Lost did or will it just go the way of The Event?

5. Will the Veronica Mars Reboot Be Any Good? – Veronica Mars has long been the holy grail of gone too soon television shows. We did get a movie thanks to Kickstarter but it was too fan servicey to be great itself. Four years later it looks like we may get a full television revival on Hulu (no official announcement yet but creator Rob Thomas has tweeted out multiple acticles on the subject without actually commenting on it himself). So will the reboot be any good? The movie was good enough and with Thomas and Kristen Bell back, I am definitely optimistic. And free of network constraints, just how dark and gritty will the show get? Can we expect a full frontal Dick Casablancas?

As the great philosopher Butt-Head once pondered, how would we know if something was cool if there weren't things that sucked; here are the five least antedated questions:

1. Who Will Get Roseanne’d Next? - A wise man once said, “Twitter is stupid and Instagram is Twitter for people who can't read.” Twitter has long been a cesspool for the angriest people to shout at each other and earlier this year Roseanne got axed from her highly rated show for being racist. Then about a month later Guardians of the Galaxy writer / director James Gunn was fired, also by Disney for making poor pedophile jokes on Twitter (or so some claimed were jokes; pictures at him at a pedophile themed party did not help his cause). Which begs the question, who will get fired because of Twitter next? Can I put money on Alec Baldwin, who has an upcoming ABC show and surprisingly has never been blacklisted for his very inappropriate tirades including calling his eleven year old daughter a “rude thoughtless pig.” I know it will not be Rian Johnson, another Disney employee and director of an upcoming Star Wars film, who recently deleted all of his tweets older than a year which is probably the wisest thing anyone can do besides never even going on Twitter.

2. What Will Be the Next Crappy Reboot? – Sure there are some reboots to be extremely excited about that may be coming soon like the previously mentioned Veronica Mars as well Alf, and a Deadwood movie. But for every worthy reboot, there seems to be ten crappy ones. Joining Will and Grace and Roseanne The Connors this fall include Murphy Brown, Magnum P.I. Last Man Standing, and Charmed. We will also be getting soon The Hills, Roswell. And also in the works are Bewitched, Designing Women, The Facts of Life, The Muppet Show, Party of Five, The Twilight Show, The Animaniacs, and a double dose of Melissa Joan Hart reboots in Clarrisa Explains it All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch (though she will only appear on the former).

3. Where Did the Runaways Runaway To? – It took an entire season for the titular runaways to actually runaway, to the point I do not really care at this point. I am still kind of rooting for the parents.

4. Will FX Continue to Let Kurt Sutter Overindulge? - The first couple seasons of Sons of Anarchy were pretty good. Then the gang went to Ireland and things dragged on a bit. When they got back to California, it did not get much better because FX’s laisse faire attitude let creator Kurt Sutter make longer and long episode that got more and more excruciating to watch. I think there was even a two hour plus episode that included three musical montages in the final season, one sung by Sutter’s wife who was also a star of the show. Aw, nepotism. So his follow-up was a hard pass for me and apparently most of Sons’ viewers because it was canceled after one season. Sutter is back in the motorcycle game with the spin-off with Mayans MC. But if FX continues to give him carte blanche, I think I will pass. And my cable guide has the first episode at over an hour and thirty-eight minutes and episode two at an hour and a half, so definitely hard pass. Seriously FX, notes are good sometimes.
5. Can CW Succeed Going to Six Nights a Week?: The CW was launched twelve years ago and two years later it was outsourcing its Sunday schedule before abandoning the night a year later. A decade later the CW is reviving the night.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: 1/14/2018

Shameless: Maybe not as Shameless as digging up your dead wife’s coffin, but oh my goodness, Frank punched a little girl. Oh Carl, you do not get down on one knew for a promise ring. Amateur.

Marvel’s Runaways: The Runaways finally ran away! Quite literally, in slow motion during the last frames of the season. Granted they are still in Los Angeles so they did not run very far. Are they just going to live on the streets next season? And was that who the black father calling, issuing an Amber Alert? Seems a bit harsh way to get your son back home. Sure the Pride has a detective in their back pocket.
You can stream episodes of Marvel's Runaways on Hulu.

The Challenge: Vendettas: It is amazing how everyone still lets Johnny run everything, the other two just going with putting in Bananas’ vendetta into elimination. Sure Cory did not help much by spreading not particurly good lies about Brad. Speaking of Banana’s, does his win of Champs vs. Pro count as breaking his curse of screwing Sarah out of money? Or does winning a micro season for charity not count?
You can download The Challenge: Vendettas on iTunes.

The Blacklist: C’mon, Red does not have anyone following Liz? That is two near death experiences since coming out of her coma.
You can download The Blacklist on iTunes.

Vikings: Kind of a cheap fake out with Ivar saying he was not going to fight and renounces his threat to kill Lagatha then when he comes back from the commercial break he throws water into his brother’s face and vows again to kill Lagatha. But I guess it was better to do that at a commercial break instead of at the end of an episode. And then we have yet another person who saves the Bishop. He did seem to glance at Lagatha before he died, I am not sure if that really happened or I am misinterpreting the editing. But I am surprised no one we knew died. I thought for sure when they started showing Bjorn’s wife and son fighting, two characters we have barely seen up do that point, at the very least one of them was not going to make it out of the battle alive.
You can download Vikings on iTunes.

Knightfall: After all the creepy uncle stuff, I finally googled and found out he was not the real uncle to the princess, just an advisor to the King. But who exactly is his “uncle” who I thought was Godfrey when he first revealed himself.
You can download Knightfall on iTunes.

Blindspot: Obviously Weller did not kill Jane’s kid; the bigger question is why Kurt said that. So apparently he shot her and left there to die. What? How about going back Kurt? Whatever happened to no man left behind?
You can download Blindspot on iTunes.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Everyone is back together! (Well except for May.) So it is time to split up again. But who was the old chick at the end? It has to be the little girl that draws the future right? The bird is probably the key but my memory is not that good to remember a little girl I think we have only seen twice.
You can download Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on iTunes.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: 1/7/2018

Shameless: Why was there so much walking between the car and the Canadian border? Seems like it would be easier to cross.

SMILF: So Bridget tries to entrap her creepy father, when it turns out not to be him, the girls end up having a dance party instead. I guess that is a pretty appropriate finale to the season.

Lucifer: Remember when South Park ended on a cliffhanger on who Cartman’s father was, then came back from a break (on April Fool’s Day) with a Terrence and Howard special and promptly went back on break. I was reminded of that this week when, after the show revealed Superman was in fact Cain, the first murder, leaving us wonder what it all means. But instead of answering that, we get a flashback episode. And then no show next week. Or the week after that. Meh.
You can download Lucifer on iTunes.

The Gifted: Oh my goodness, the triplets are so great. Give them and the Hellfire Club a spin off. Or just make them the focal point of this show.
You can download The Gifted on iTunes.

Marvel’s Runaways: Wait, mom did not know daughter was an alien? Jonah has to be her father, right, he is an alien too? Then why did dad sell her out, it is because of the healing gloves? And why are him and Jonah letting the kids into the construction site when they have to know they were trying to shut it down? Unless Jonah needs them, or at least one of them, there for some reason. And the parent too, which is why he just told them when he has apparently known for a while the kids knew. But here we are with one episode left and the Runaways have not actually runaway yet. All were got was some lame meta joke about naming their group that.
You can stream episodes of Marvel's Runaways on Hulu.

The Challenge: Vendettas: My biggest take away from the Vendetta’s premiere: what a massive downgrade Brad. Seriously, how do go from one of the top five most attractive cast members to someone who may not even be in the top one hundred? Seriously dude, you just embarrassed yourself on national television. That was like Hugh Grant stuff right there. I really those two did not have any children. Then my biggest takeaway from Champs vs. Stars: wait, we still have one more week (at least) after this?
You can download The Challenge: Vendettas on iTunes.

The X-Files: Usually the “Previously On” segment are really helpful for shows, but I came away from this one more confused. And only got more confused as the show went on. So what was the last season finale, a vision of the future? Meh, the Chris Carter written episodes are so bad, he just needs to hand the show over to someone else.
You can download The X-Files on iTunes.

The Blacklist: C’mon, did they really have to kill the dog? I mean, yeah the mailman dying was sad too. Also, was leaving Agnes with Scottie a wise decision. Sure none of her grandparents are what I would consider trustworthy, but she really is not much of an upgrade from Red.
You can download The Blacklist on iTunes.

Vikings: I guess you cannot blame Bjorn for high talking it out of Arabia, but that was my favorite part of this season, just somewhere new. Of course we still have Loki’s (presumably) Iceland adventure where it looks like he may be inventing socialism. But back in Kattegard Bjorn was quick to find someone new (and that princess sure was kinky) but even quicker was his half-brother moving in on his other wife. That relationship and many other will make it interesting on how the whole invasion will pan out. Harold’s queen is really the only one to truly show their card as to whose side they are really on.
You can download Vikings on iTunes.

Knightfall: Well that was a pretty elaborate way to get out of a wedding. Nice that the brother also tried to kill the king while he was at it, too bad the Templars messed that plan up.
You can download Knightfall on iTunes.

The Good Place: Oh no, what is to happen to the Real Eleanor? Hopefully she escapes her cocoon soon. But are all the demons gone from the neighborhood now? But doesn’t that mean the neighborhood will be gone soon.
You can download The Good Place on iTunes.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: So Fitz shot the button to wall them off from the Kree, but couldn’t the Kree just re-push the button and go after them? And how thin skinned are the Kree if they can be cut with a butter knife?
You can download Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on iTunes.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: 12/29/2017

Marvel’s Runaways: The mysterious figure that walked in on Amy as she was leaving has to be Jonah right? I guess maybe one of the other Pride members could also make sense. And what a complete cop out of not killing anyone to save angry dad. You cannot spend half an episode deciding who dies only to have on person destroyed the pod at the last minute. Though I kind of like the evilness of saying there has to be a sacrifice now, and then after that could not happen be like, never mind, we will figure out something else later. But after finding the footage of their parents being evil, the Runaways have to actually runaway next week, right.
You can stream episodes of Marvel's Runaways on Hulu.

The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars: So Josh, who wert twice, had the fastest overall time (beating self-proclaimed state champion swimmer Wes), Kim had the fastest female time, the Stars got seven more flags than the Champs… but still lost by ten seconds. How sad. With Vendetta starting next week, I hope that means that means next week is the last for this pitiful special.
You can download The Challenge: Dirty 30 on iTunes.

The Librarians: Wait, Jenkins gave up his immortality to someone who themselves have also lived hundreds of years? Isn’t he more important than her? And if he is no longer immortal, shouldn’t he have turned to dust? So is the old Guardian going to become the new Jenkins since he may die soon? Or are they going to find a way for him to become immortal again? I guess they should have captured Rasputin and transfer his immortality to the Guardian.
You can download The Librarians on iTunes.

Vikings: So Bjorn’s Mediterranean adventure is not going well. But the desert was never really a good place for the fair skinned.
You can download Vikings on iTunes.

Knightfall: So Godfrey had the Grail all along and young Landry knew about it? Alrighty. So when Godfrey went to the Middle East in that first scene, he already knew what they had was not the Grail. Then you had the princess once again acting creepy towards her uncle.
You can download Knightfall on iTunes.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: 12/23/2017

Shameless: C’mon Ian, not worth it, all you did was piss off your sister and your ex-boy(girl)friend. And why isn’t Carl detoxing any of Lip’s friends if it is working so well? I just assumed that was going to happen eventually.

SMILF: Eww, Larry will not got potty in the bathroom but will on a salvage yard toilet.

Marvel’s Runaways: You know, when a future person tells you not to do something, maybe you should not do that thing. But, oh snap, she shot her husband. Finally something interesting happened on the show. Though I wonder why future Chase did not also try to contact himself and tell him not to tinker with his toy without his father.
You can stream episodes of Marvel's Runaways on Hulu.

The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars: I thought for sure when Johnny was talking about how he would have to retire from the show if he lost to Riff Raft that Johnny would lose (granted he was in the promo for next season).
You can download The Challenge: Dirty 30 on iTunes.

Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers: Wow, these people are morons. After pulling an Idol out on Lauren and Ashley in the past two week, how can the remaining four not sit on Ben until the next Tribal? They literally have nothing better to do. At least Devon was smart enough to throw a vote to Dr. Mike. Except he then gets screwed by a new twist where the Immunity winner picks someone to take to the finale and the other two go to a fire making challenge.

Speaking of stupid moves and unfair advantages, it seem like that is the theme of next season. I think. The promo was pretty vague. It seems to me they are resurrecting Exile Island (or, God forbid, Redemption Island) where contestants go to be haunted by failed advantages and Idols past and maybe they will hope to get played wisely. I guess that would be interesting if it was a returning players’ season primarily made up of people who made stupid moves (let me against suggest a Morons vs. Masterminds season). But alas it is all new players. Unless Ghost Island is literal and the Ice Cream Scooper and/or Lauren who made the dumbest move this season will be showing up to haunt the inhabitants of Ghost Island.
You can download Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers on iTunes.

Vikings: So is the Bishop going to be the new Applestan? I am actually much more interesting In the trials and tribulations of Bjorn on his Mediterranean journey. The never-ending cycle of English vs Norsemen is getting a bit overdone. Bjorn’s story is fresh.
You can download Vikings on iTunes.

Knightfall: Who creates a mural of the time their brother stabled them through the stomach. But you gotta feel bad for the brother, pretty much ends up dying the same way that the Holy Grail saved him. But how exactly did the Grail go from the bottom of the sea on a wrecked ship to Godfrey’s possession? Was that not the Grail at all?
You can download Knightfall on iTunes.

Blindspot: Wait, we just learned Jane has a kid less than a month ago and Kurt killed her already? That just does not up. Especially considering how Kurt was very adamant that he not a killer earlier. Of course my number one rule of television is that no one is truly dead until you see the dead body (and even then I am still suspicious).
You can download Blindspot on iTunes.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Um, Fitz, why are you finding a way to the future without a plan to get back to present day? Or is he content living seventy days in the future? And I am not sure why sending SHIELD in the future stops an extinction level event (other than if Daisy is in the future she cannot destroy the past. Though I am not totally convinced Daisy quaked the Earth apart.
You can download Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on iTunes.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: 12/17/2017

Shameless: There is no greater fear I have in life than to die and my dogs would starve to death because no one noticed. Even more horrifying is now I have in my mind that they would not starve before someone notice. But you got to blame Fiona, if your tenant is late on rent and not responding, you got to go in earlier. But at least she did the right thing and saved the dog from execution. But why was it so hard for Kev to find a dude to have sex with? Does he not work as a bartender at a gay bar?

The Walking Dead: I actually felt bad for a couple seconds after Carl revealed the zombie bite. Of course then I realized that, oh yeah, I hate Carl. Although I fear that since the episode did not end with him dying that he will somehow survive. Of course Carl would be the one person who is immune (although I think the Fear the Walking Dead characters ran into someone who claimed they survived). But back to the beginning, I feel like I missed something, like how the Saviors got out. I know someone said how but it would have been nice to see.
You can download The Walking Dead on iTunes.

Good Behavior: The last two episodes were duds because it was not very fun watching high Letty except hung over Letty was almost as bad. Then it looked like we were going to get the clichĂ©d Javier sets a trap for Tao except he kidnaps Letty instead plot. Except they completely switch things up with Letty ending up killing Tao without the help of Javier…. And then kills the security guy for no reason. Yeah, it may be time for Letty to g back to prison. Good behavior is just not working out.
You can download Good Behavior on iTunes.

SMILF: Watching Rosie O’Donnell having sex is very high on my list of things I never needed to see.

White Famous: Well, back to the beginning. But what is season two, are they actually going to do Angry Black? Do a time jump to something else? I am guessing it will not just be him raising his kid.

Lucifer: Well, I guess I was right that Superman was the Sinnerman. Though I could never predict he would turn out to be Cain. Superman said the Sinnerman killed his brother which turned out not to be a lie because Cain killed Abel.
You can download Lucifer on iTunes.

The Gifted: I have been in half watching mode of this show for a while, so I was wondering why the new blond was killing all the FBI agents (except the one we knew who somehow looked to only having a non-fatal injury). Then there was three of them. Okay, I am kind of almost interested in the show again.
You can download The Gifted on iTunes.

Marvel’s Runaways: So the old crusty dude who sucks the lifeforce out of people is the one that brought the Pride together? But where has he been the past decade that no one but apparently the alien mom knew? I also have the question the parentage of Karolina’s father. Is it the guy we thought was her father or is it the life sucker. I am starting to get an annoying Lost vibe in that they pose a bunch of questions but are very slow to answering them. And here we are past the half way point and the Runaways have yet to actually runaway.
You can stream episodes of Marvel's Runaways on Hulu.

The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars: So after over half the females Champs went home without losing anything, they brought in Tori… another Champ who has never actually won anything. I am hoping next week is the end, I am ready for it.
You can download The Challenge: Dirty 30 on iTunes.

Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers: I never understood why people are so hesitant to look for the Idol when other people are looking, especially when they know they are on the bottom. Weirder was Ben who did not want to go under the shelter around people and yet pulls it out at Tribal before the vote for everyone to see. But I did like him playing it before people voted to leverage Ashley and Devon to vote with him against Dr. Mike. Except then Ben and Devon voted for Ashley for no reason we, the viewers, were privy to. And this bad editing has gone on for three or so seasons. I get the show likes shocking votes, but the shock loses its luster if we have no clue why it happened.
You can download Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers on iTunes.

Vikings: Well that is some strange bedfellows of Lagatha and one of the kids of the lady she killed. Weird the boys did not go after her when their half-brother left. Speaking of weird, where did the Vikings go at the end. I assumed they were playing possum, but why stop the episode there? Are they hiding underground and that is why the rates are above ground. Did they poison the land?
You can download Vikings on iTunes.

Mr. Robot: So the 5/0 hack never happened? Does this piss off White Rose or is this what (s)he wanted the hole time. I am a bit confused by everyone’s motive, Is this the time travel that is heavily hinted at (there was evn the turn back time scene from the Superman movie in this episode). But in the big letdown was the drug dealer from the first season was the end credit scene as he bizarrely showed up blaring Fiona Apple. Kind of a blah ending to what was an improvement over season two.
You can download Mr. Robot on iTunes.

Knightfall: Wait, the princess wanted to marry her uncle. Now this is a large cast and I am still trying to figure out who is who, but are they really related? Although the royals of the time were famously inbred.
You can download Knightfall on iTunes.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: From the start of the season I assumed Fitz was left behind so he could be the one to bring the rest of the team back to present day. But now he is in the future and wanting Quake to fight to the death (of course if she can rip apart the Earth, I think she could win most battles).

57 Channels and Only This Is On: 12/10/2017

Shameless: Ooo, Gallagher vs. Gallagher. This should be interesting. Except Fiona is in the right, certainly there are plenty of run down properties in Chicago for them to rent a new shelter.

The Walking Dead: So all the Walkers in the yard just went into the building right? Why was that such a question? Unless that has something to do with why no one is answering the walkie talkie. Is Eugene really as smart as he think he is and cleared the building and captured the snipers?
You can download The Walking Dead on iTunes.

Good Behavior: Just how do you sneaked a tied up and gagged guy out of a hotel. But anyway. And bad idea buying a house with all the money you made? How are you going to furnish it and pay property tax? Not that Letty may never live in it because is in the middle of nowhere without her shoes. That is why you do not do drugs kids. Well that and getting shot with a nail gun.
You can download Good Behavior on iTunes.

SMILF: Well that was weird. Okay I get the Run Lola Run reference because of the hair but I never saw the movie. Was it a complete homage with three acts and people getting run over by a hearst? And did Tami Taylor really proposition a threesome or was the last part we saw the only thing that really happened?

White Famous: So Kali really did lose her phone. I wonder if we will learn it was stolen by someone next week. Thinks just do not happen accidentally on television shows.

Supergirl: Well that is an interesting mask Reign is wearing. Kind of reminds me of Hallie Berry’s Catwoman mask, which is not a compliment. And how much does the original character know about Reign? She just seemed to think she was asleep and this was a duel personality situation. But aren’t they doing that on one of the other superheroes show? I think one of the people at The Flash’s wedding was a good person that had a bad person living inside of them.
You can download Supergirl on iTunes.

Lucifer: Wait, was that really the Sinnerman that we saw. I got a strong patsy vibe from him. There has to be more coming. I am still not counting out Superman being involved even though he claims the Sinnerman killed his brother.
You can download Lucifer on iTunes.

The Gifted: Wait, the brother and sister can bring down a building by holding hands? And what a Chekov’s Gun letdown that they did not end up using the ability.
You can download The Gifted on iTunes.

Marvel’s Runaways: Finally, all the powers are coming to light and used at the same time (well except being able to control a dinosaur; and I guess Alex does not have any powers). Although, how did the blonde know she could shoot rainbow beams? Now all they have to do is actually runaway. And I am still kind of fuzzy who the old dude is. I thought it was the mom’s father, but now I am thinking they may be more than that now that we have seen the new him. Was he who brought the Pride together? And just what do the rest of the Pride get out of these sacrifices?.
You can stream episodes of Marvel's Runaways on Hulu.

The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars: What a complete and utter disaster, Camilla gets the boot, Jenna leaves due to injury, and now Ashley is gone because her father’s death, Terrell Owens quits, and Riff Raft is MIA. Maybe instead of a mini-season, they should have just done a two hour special.
You can download The Challenge: Dirty 30 on iTunes.

Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers: The family reward challenge was the worst in the history of not only the show but in the history of all competition shows. Putting the Immunity Shell literally where Lauren could reach out and touch it from her station was way too easy. But what was going down as one of the worst episodes in the show’s history was redeemed by Dr. Mike throwing Lauren’s Idol into the fire (I have gone back in forth on whether it would have been wise to try and fish it out; maybe try to get a stick or something and push it out).

I have to put that move by Lauren as the third dumbest move ever in the history of the show (after Brandon and the Ice Cream Scooper giving up their Immunity Necklace only to be promptly being voted out). Seriously, how do you start off the day with a Hidden Immunity Idol and an Extra Vote and get your torch snuffed? It always amazes me how everyone obsesses over splitting votes just in case of a Hidden Immunity Idol, yet this is not the first time when people had enough people to split the vote but did not. Seriously, all Lauren had to do was throw her Extra Vote on Dr. Mike or Turtleneck and would have booted one of them just in case Ben had an Idol, which he did.
You can download Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers on iTunes.

Vikings: Maybe Ivar the Boneless really is unkillable. But come on, when it is 100 vs a cripple, how about firing more than one arrow. But I actually thought he was going to kill another brother this episode. But the cripple has to die soon, the question is who, one of his brothers, the Englishmen, Laggatha? I am going o go with the half-brother when he comes back. And where my original thought was Floki discovered North America, but now I am thinking he is in Iceland.
You can download Vikings on iTunes.

Mr. Robot: Darla and the FBI agent? But now that Mr. Robot and Elliot know there is a White Rose mole in the FBI, will they be able to save her before the Dark Army gets to her before she undoes the original hack. Unless Dom finally realizes her boss is working for the enemy. Ever since the one shot episode, I have thought Angela would die, I still have a sinking suspicion someone we know will not make it to season four.
You can download Mr. Robot on iTunes.

Gotham: I was actually thinking Falcone, close to death, ordered the hit on himself to save his daughter from Penguin, how cold do you have to be to order the hit on your dad? And did Butch actually remember his pre-Grundy life?
You can download Gotham on iTunes.

Once Upon a Time: So Rapunzel is the Evil Stepmother who was a good person, sacrificed everything for her family and then decided to say, fork it, I am killing my husband’s new wife? Huh? Drusilla is coming out as the only reasonable person on this show.
You can download Once Upon a Time on iTunes.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Fitz is who is on the radio, right?

57 Channels and Only This Is On: 11/26/2017

The Walking Dead: So is the reverend now officially a Savior now? But it is weird the show is trying to humanize a guy who beat Glen’s head in with a bat in front of his wife just because Daryl got mouthy.
You can download The Walking Dead on iTunes.

Good Behavior: Wait, why did Javier did leave the dude tied up in a hotel? Why not at least interrogate him first? And just leaving him tied up in a hotel and leave is kind of a Bond villain thing to do. Does Javier leave him to die or know he will get free eventually? I am not sure that was the wisest thing to do. But meeting Letty’s grandmother was definitely entertaining. And good twist by having the step-grandfather being faithful and truly in love. I hope we get back to the plantation later this season.
You can download Good Behavior on iTunes.

White Famous: Wait, wasn’t Meagan Good’s character on Californication (which was created by the same guy as White Famous) also a singer named Kali? She was quick to get with Hank on that show, maybe it is a crossover. But Floyd’s big mistake was he did not tape the cheaters to show Sadie. Like maybe Kali did, the camera did not linger on her phone at the end for no reason. Who was she filming that for?

Supergirl: Ugg, Mon-El is back. But, oh my, Saturn Girl. Though I am still no entirely sure how Mon-El went to the future but was found on a ship that crashed into the ocean centuries ago. But the finally confirmed what I figured out a long time ago that the new single mom is an alien herself. Though how in eighteen years did a curious kid not look underneath a sheet in the barn and then ask what is up with the spaceship? But nice touch putting her Fortress of Solitude in the desert compared to the super cousin’s one in the arctic.
You can download Supergirl on iTunes.

Marvel's Runaways: Hulu made available the first two episodes of the show over the summer but they were "not for review." This happens from time to time, and the screeners are eventually updated with reviewable versions. Except Hulu took down those two episodes and never put up any more so that is why I never previewed the show this week. Granted my first impressions was an overwhelming meh (which I guess means I was whelmed). It reminded me of every bad CW teen show and I actually related more to the evil parents than the protagonist teens. I did end up seeing the third episode that was also released this week and I enjoyed it a little more just because it seemed a big ore fun than the first two. I mean, there was a dinosaur and x-ray glasses (though I did not exactly get why the girl was where a lead layered vest). But in the end I am still wondering why the Runaways have yet to, you know... actually runaway.
You can stream episodes of Marvel's Runaways on Hulu.

The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars: When the cast got leaked I thought it contained spoilers considering Cory, Jenna, and Aneesa had never won. Nope apparently the show cannot find ten people who have actually won before. And it looks like it may be a melancholy happy trails to Camilla because you may be asked back if you punch a contestant (or more in the case of CT), but punching a producer probably is a line. They did not even invite her the reunion and barely mentioned her and explain why she was not there. The Camillinator was always good for one crazy drunken moment per season, but the got progressively more depressing every subsequent season. I doubt there will ever be another like her as the next generation seem to be too self aware.
You can download The Challenge: Dirty 30 on iTunes.

Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers: When Ben got really excited when Cole got eliminated I realized that yet again they are going to give Joe another reprieve. No I understand the reasoning of keeping Joe, there is no one this season you would rather sit next too at the Final Tribal. Except in an alliance of seven, you really need to worry of other people you are with thinking the same thing. Ben wanting to not even do a split vote on Joe should have been a huge red flag to the other six. Clearly Ben is angling Joe in the final with him, and that leaves one less spot for you. There are nine next week and odd numbers are the perfect time to switch things up because you definitely do not want to get to seven and realize you are in the three not the four of the alliance. Let’s see if the other six are smart or are they just going to let Ben run it all the way to the win.
You can download Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers on iTunes.

Mr. Robot: I spent the last two episodes fearing Angela would make it to the end and not I fear she will survive but will spend most of the rest of the show in a nut house. But this episode was really the first misstep of the season. The big post credits scene was the former Fsociety hackers being found. But they waited until the second half of the season to get back to them even though it seemed like less than an hour elapsed between that scene and this episode, only to kill them off by the end of the episode. And all because the chick could not drive. Meh.
